Electro Magnetic Pulleys

heavy-duty Magnetic Pulleys are used for removing tramp metal. Our comprehensive
range of Magnetic Separator Pulleys is perfectly used as head pulleys
in belt continuous and automatic removal of tramp metal from material
flow. As the tramp metal contaminated material comes within the pulley's
magnetic field, the ferrous tramp will be attracted and held to be belt
until it reaches the underside. It will then pass separately out of the
magnetic field and be discharged into a chute of bin. The cleaned, non-magnetic
material is discharged normally over the pulley in a vertical drop.
These Powerful Electromagnetic Pulleys are used for effective separating heavy tramp iron and fine iron contaminants from conveyor transported materials. They are ideal to help solve even the toughest iron separation problems involving high speeds, heavy burden depths and hard-to-separate materials.

Equipment Furnished:
The shaft, collector rings, brush holders with brushes
and dust-resistant collector ring housing are furnished with each pulley
as standard equipment. Lagging is available as an option. Only direct
current is suitable for energizing electromagnetic pulleys. Standard voltage
is 115V DC but other non-standard voltages can be supplied at slight additional
cost. Where direct current is not available, suitable rectifiers can be
supplied.
Shaft
All shafts are steel and are amply proportioned to
handle the required load. Shafts are carefully machined from oversize
stock to required finished dimensions.
Insulation and Coils
Coils are layer-wound on cores that are designed to
prevent movement of the coils. High dielectric insulating materials are
used on all metal surfaces adjacent to the coils.
Collector Rings and Housing
Heavy cast bronze rings insulated by bakelite discs
are used . Housing is of cast iron with a readily accessible interior.
Large carbon brushes insure positive continuous contact.
The housing is equipped with grease and dustproof seals to prevent foreign
matter from getting in.
It is used either as the head pulley of a belt conveyor installation or as drive pulley in a self contained pulley type separator. Electromagnetic pulley is basically composed by a set of rolled mild steel pole shoes of high magnetic permeability. Coils are made from aluminum / copper wires or strips with class insulation. Feeding is made through a bipolar axial slip rings direct current usually 110V or 220V. Available diameters from 250 to 1500mm and length up to 2000mm.
